In about 1984 I had the VGB WLS. Years later developed a fistula and gained back all my weight and more. In 2005 I had it revised to the RNY and am doing well.

I am not an expert but I believe it is a do over. For some reason the original surgery has failed for various reasons, or sometimes people who have had the band want the RNY or had the RNY and want the Switch. I hope this helps. There is a revision board that might answer more of your question. Jeanne
